It’s early, but candidates are starting to announce or indicate they might announce their bid for the presidency in 2020. This is not new. Most presidential elections involve numerous candidates, especially from the party not currently in the White House. While it is very difficult to beat an incumbent, presidents also are subject to running in primaries against others from their party before moving on to the general election.
Using hard news sources, research to find out more about who these potential candidates are and what kind of experience they have. Paragraph 1: Cite at least four likely candidates. Include their name, political affiliation, educational background, and job experience. You may not cite the president as a possibility as we know he is running; however, make yourself knowledgeable of his educational background and job experience if you are unaware. Paragraph 2: Cite at least two more possible candidates. Include their name, political affiliation, educational background, and job experience. Paragraph 3: What major issues are likely to be at the forefront of the 2020 election? What issues would you personally like to hope would be pertinent? At the end of your post, cite at least two hard news sources you used to in your research. Ex. Vox, Washington Post Comment on the post of one other classmate (2 posts total). There is no word limit; however, a simple sentence stating your agreement or disagreement, or fondness for the post, is unacceptable.

These four candidates are likely running for the 2020 presidential election. Senator Elizabeth Warren, for the democrat party, is a Massachusetts senator and her name is noticeable. Her biggest views are to fix capitalism versus replacing it with something new. Warren hopes to tax extreme wealth; she has made her name known in Iowa so far. Warren even took a DNA test to show she had Native American in her blood. Her educational background includes: Northwest Classen High School, The George Washington University, University of Houston, and Rutgers Law School.

I agree with you about race being an issue, and I think it is a look into a brighter furture for America with a more diverse government.

Courtney, what do you mean when you say race should be talked about? In my opinion, race or ethnicity is still a major issue that many people are still talked about. Do you mean that race should start being accepted by more people? I also think that Medicare and healthcare is a major issue in that many people cannot afford it.

I also believe immigration will be a well thought out issue for the presidential election coming up next year. With everything going on now with the government and the wall I believe that will be more than addressed. Then healthcare, I agree with the fact that Medicare for everyone will be brought up as I stated in my paragraphs. I hope to see both health care and immigration brought up in 2020.

I notice that there is a strong presence of democrats and not any republicans racing. This may be because of Trump running for re-election and all republicans throwing their support behind him. There are a lot of women in the running as well and that has not been seen in this many numbers before. This could be the year possibly where a woman is elected for the first time in U.S. History.

This is all really good Anna. Like Nathan said on Landon's post, there are a lot of democrats running for election but not a lot of republicans. Probably because they want all the support they can have President Trump's re-election. 2020 will be a very interesting year!

I chose Bernie Sanders, and it seems that he still has a certain probability of winning. So far, his popularity includes recruiting more campaign funds than other Democratic candidates. The only thing that can threaten him is Biden, the founding faction, characterized by lack of personality, moderate, and lack of stamina. The main attraction is the Democratic Party. Rightist. If Bernie can win the primary election, the chances of winning the general election will be even greater. After all, Trump itself is a minority president. The votes are not as much as Hilary. It is completely won by the electoral vote system. After the honeymoon period of the ruling period. Some voters who are dissatisfied with him will not vote for him again. In that case, his small advantage will be reduced again. Whether he can be re-elected is very suspenseful. Speaking of Bernie’s participation in the civil rights movement in the 1960s, he has not forgotten his initial intentions and insisted on his own socialism until his first election in 2016, but he lost the presidency because of the distrust in the Democratic Party. Opportunity. Bernie and Corbyn are similar to some extent. They are widely supported by ordinary people. However, the support of the party members is not high. It can be said that it is indeed socialism.
