One of the viable contenders in the 2016 United States Presidential Election was Democrat Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton was mostly open about focusing on abortion, budget and economy, civil rights, corporations, crime, drugs, education, energy and oil, environment, families and children, foreign policy, free trade, government reform, gun control, health care, homeland security, immigration, jobs, principles and values, social security, tax reform, technology, war and peace, and welfare and policy. Researching this candidate from the 2016 election makes me believe HUD Secretary Julian Castro would be a successful Vice President (VEEP) for her campaign. They both had more than one educational place they attended, but they both attended Yale Law School. They also both were United State secretary’s. Clinton being United States Secretary of State (2009-2013) and Castro being United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Their views meet the same criteria and they seem as two people that’d be able to work well together. Castro also has a government background, as he was the youngest cabinet member under Obama’s administration (2014-2017) and then also being being the Mayor of San Antonio (209-2014). Castro is actually running for presidency in 2020, he has already started his campaigning promising everyone that he will visit all 50 states to represent himself and his views. This reminding me of how Clinton’s campaigning went while she was running in 2016.

I agree with you Courtney, Julian Castro would be a good Vice President for Hillary Clinton. The geography of where the candidates have come from could represent a large part of the population. The diversity would represent a lot of the population as well.

In the election of 2016, many people ran for the presidential position. One of them was Bernie Sanders. Sanders is a United States Senator from Vermont and has been since 2007. Sanders ran in 2016 and just announced he’s running again for the 2020 election. A good Vice President for Sanders would be Stacey Abrams of Georgia. She ran for the governor of Georgia in the 2018 midterms but lost to Brian Kemp. She would be a great fit as Vice President to Bernie Sanders. There are many factors to picking a Vice President. Some of them being the geography of where the candidates are from, diversity, and deciding on who is doing the heavy lifting. Geography wise, it makes a lot of sense. Sanders is from the northeast and Abrams is from the south; having one person knowing the north and its people and having one person knowing south means that they know a lot of the people they’re representing. Another factor is diversity. Bernie Sanders is older white man from Vermont and Stacey Abrams is an African American woman from Georgia. Not only are the people different genders, they are different races. If Sanders did win, Abrams would not only be the first African American as a Vice President, she would be the first woman Vice President. That diversity will also help them represent a large number of people. The last factor is deciding who is doing the heavy lifting during the campaign and during the presidency. With the public knowing both of them well they both will be able to do the heavy lifting and distribute it evenly between the both of them. They will both talk about certain issues that they are passionate about without overlapping each other.

I agree with you McKay, I also believe Stacey Abrams would be a good fit as a Vice President for Bernie Sanders. The geography aspect is a huge plus, since they are from two opposite parts of the United States. Also, the fact that their races are different would show even more diversity and that would also boost their teamwork!

I agree with you McKay, if they were to run together, they would be known in the north and south well by voters. With this case, Bernie Sanders would not have to work as hard to win people over from the south and he has a strong candidate from there running by his side.

Bernie Sanders ran for the presidency for the democratic party in 2016 and just announced his running for the election of 2020. I believe a good candidate to run beside Sanders as his VP would be Maria L. Svart. Both Maria and Bernie are democratic socialists. Maria Svart happens to be the national director of the Democratic Socialists of America group since the year 2011. This is the largest socialist group in the United States. To be the leader of the DSA takes tremendous amounts of time, work, and dedication to achieve what she and along with her other followers want to achieve. As head of this massive group, she obviously has a exponential amount of governmental knowledge and knows how to work against opposing political parties. She plans rallies and protests and such for the party around the clock. She is constantly working against President Trump to run him out of office in 2020 already, if she was beside Bernie in the election of 2020, her voice would be heard even louder than it is now. She has a strong passion to push the agenda of her party forward, and I am sure that she would push even harder if she were to be running as Bernie Sander’s VP in the election of 2020.

She would also be the first VP who is a woman and that is huge in terms of diversity in office.

I agree with you Nathan. I think it is time for the Vice President to be a woman, it would create diversity and inspire more women to run for the Presidency and maybe even get elected. Bernie Sanders and Maria Svart would be good together because she would attract so many democratic socialists to help Sanders win the election.

One of the candidates for the 2016 presidential election was Marco Rubio. Rubio was a republican candidate from Florida. He believed that he was uniquely qualified for the position because he was a Republican Senator of Florida from the years 2000 to 2008. In the 2016 candidate rankings, he was the second most conservative republican presidential candidate running in the race. Rubio is only 43, which makes him a little young to be running for president. When he announced his candidacy, he wanted to be the youthful face for voters and hoped to attract young voters, blacks, and latinos. For these reasons, I believe that Jon Huntsman would be a good Vice President for Marco Rubio. Huntsman is from Utah where he was the governor from 2005 to 2009. In 2008, he won re-election with 78 percent of the vote. In 2009, he became the US Ambassador to China, but stopped in 2011 to run for presidency in 2012. He was also appointed US Trade Representative and US Trade Ambassador by George W Bush. He is a republican and is 58 years old. Since Rubio is from Florida and Huntsman is from Utah, they would know how to handle things from all over the US. Both Rubio and Huntsman lost in the New Hampshire primaries. They both also believe that the US could become something much bolder and bigger. These two also fall under the Complementary Choice because Rubio was a senator and Huntsman was a governor. These two may have lost the Presidential election, but if they were together, they could be much stronger.

I agree with what you said about being able to handle issues because they are from different areas of the US, but I wish you had provided examples of different issues and their opinons on them so that it gave more of a reason why Huntsman would make a good VP for Rubio.

Hillary Clinton ran for the presidency for the democratic party in 2016. She is the former first lady of the U.S. and I think the best VP for her is Maria L. Svart. First of all they both are from Democratic party and Since 2011, Maria Svart has happened to be the national director of the American Democratic Socialist Organization. It takes more effort to become the leader of that organization since it is the biggest organization in the U.S. and another reason that Maria L. Svart will become a good VP to Hillary Clinton is Maria L. Svart is not active on social media and Hillary Clinton is, so they can become a good partner since they complete each other. Another thing is Maria L. Svart has a lot of knowledge about how to run a government since she is the leader of a big organization, so Hillary Clinton does not have to listen to her husband every times when she is facing problems. Their opinions are highly similar, and I think Maria L. Svart will help Hillary Clinton a lot as a VP.

In the 2016 presidential election, there was a good amount of both republican and democrat candidates. Carly Fiorina was one of the republican candidates. Fiorina was born in Texas, and is 64 years old. She has stated that she is a Christian, but more specifically she was raised Episcopalian. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Sanford University, and she received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park. Fiorina worked in management at AT&T, and had a long career in technology and sales. She has never held a public office, but in 2006 she worked for Republican Senator John Mccain's presidential campaign. Roy Dean Blunt is a republican and was most recently a Senator from Missouri. He was born in Missouri and is 69 years old. Blunt has an extensive career within state government. Both Fiorina and Blunt said that the Affordable Care Act was an overreach when it was put in place by Hillary Clinton. He would be a good Vice President to Fiorina because they were born in different areas of the United States, they have similar ideas, they are close in age, and Blunt has the government experience that Fiorina lacks.

John Kasich was a Republican Presidential candidate during the 2016 election, and was the current Governor of Ohio while running for election. Although Kasich did not win the Republican nomination, he was at times a frontrunner during the election, specifically after winning his home state of Ohio, early on in the primary election process. A good and suitable Vice President for Kasich, if he would have won the election, would have been a fellow Republican Presidential candidate, Senator Marco Rubio. Rubio would have been a good choice for the Vice President for several reasons. Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, would have been able to get the votes of Latinos across the nation, a general weak spot for Republicans, as well as being diverse running mates. Also, the geographic factor would have helped, with Kasich from the northern US, Ohio and Rubio from the Southern US, from Florida. Also, with Kasich being a Governor and not having much experience inside of Washington, Rubio would very much help Kasich due to Rubio being a Senator and having a good deal of Washington experience. Also, with Rubio being relatively young compared to Kasich and having the same general ideas, this would have also helped the two.

In the election of 2016,Because the social elite headed by Hillary does not represent the interests of the people. They have mastered most of the social resources, and they think they can be rebelliously reversed; and because they have mastered social public opinion, they think they hold the truth and can think of others instead. This eventually turned a large number of people into a silent majority against themselves. For a long time, a large part of the Democratic elites, in their own interests, are arrogant and arrogant in their own interests, and are over-biased and cared for certain minorities in order to seek their support. In the public opinion, it relies on strengthening ethnic differences, intensifying ethnic conflicts and arbitrarily benefiting. Forcing unrealistic social welfare, but letting some honest workers pay for it. In this process, a large amount of social resources are spent with extremely low efficiency, and the general public is overwhelmed. What's more, they do not hesitate to violate the law in order to buy votes and buy illegal immigrants and other groups that have little contribution to society.
