In my eyes dallas is the best place for for the next amazon hq because it fits all of the criteria for the new location. The population is 1.341 million that is over 300 thousand more than they are looking for. Dallas economy is projected to increase 42.3% over the next 10 years. Currently there are 47,000 people unemployed in dallas that can almost fill every job slot needed. In dallas there is a lot of area that is near dallas/fort worth. A good area i found is near corral city which is 30.6 miles from the airport and is 0.25 miles from i-35. Just north of corral there is a 6.5 million dollar plot of land that is 76 acres(enough to fit phase 3 with 3.3 million square feet) with more room around it for expansion to reach the 2027 goal of 8 million feet.

I agree with Ture, Texas is a great place because of low cost of living and also no corporate income tax. Also there are plenty of people to fill the jobs.

Houston, Texas is a good choice because it has more than enough people to support Amazon’s population requirements. Houston has a population of 2,296,224 people. Houston also has a stable job market and economy. It also has an affordable housing/lot price. They call Houston the U.S’s energy capital. Since Houston has such a good job market, there are plenty of talented people in Houston, perfect candidates to be hired by Amazon. Another pro is that there is plenty of lots for sale, so Amazon could hopefully find a perfect lot for their new facility. Houston’s affordable prices should help Amazon buy a cheaper lot then in other cities.

I agree with you on the idea that Houston is a good choice for Amazon to set up their next HQ. Huston also has a good number of unemployed people that would fill up all of Amazon's employee needs.

While I didn't choose the same city as Savannah, I believe that her claim is supported by strong statistics and facts that would make me consider Houston, TX as a possible candidate for the new Amazon HQ, even though I didn't pick it.

I didn't pick Houston, but I agree that it is a good choice because of the many transportation options and the state the economy is in makes it a perfect.

Savannah has a great point about Texas being the ideal location because it is within very close proximity to a large airport, which is very important for shipping. I believe you did an amazing job supporting your point.

I am not sure if my last comment went through as a reply to Ture's, but I said that I agreed with him because Texas is an affordable area and that was one of amazon's requests. I also said that Ture seemed to have found the perfect lot!

To me I believe Philadelphia is good choice as Amazon’s next HQ. Philadelphia is a major metropolitan area due to it being a mass commercial, industrial, and cultural center for people. With it being a mass center of influence it is a prime location for the unemployed to go find a job and with the people going to the city in large numbers they have very urban environment for Amazon to set up in. Philadelphia has been having a steady rise in its economy along with a population of 1.581 million. The city also has the Philadelphia International Airport an airport in Philadelphia that could taken to use.

I agree with Thor because Philadelphia, along with having lots of attraction for people searching for a job, has many good schools in the area which will procure talent Amazon can use for their company, especially after Amazon moves in, causing an even heavier increase in how many people go there for schooling.

The city best suited for the next Amazon Hq is Austin TX, Texas has many attributes that would be beneficial to Amazon. Texas has better infrastructure than any other state, and has a very stable business climate. Austin also has a very large tech field that Amazon would love as well as a population above 1 million. The best part of choosing Austin is that Texas has no corporate income tax. Austin is the best city in Texas because it has a bigger tech scene than any other city. When it comes to Amazon’s next HQ Austin has it all when it comes to population, stability, talent, and location.

Philadelphia is the place to establish HQ2 because it has large population of 1.581 million as well as an unemployment rate that would satisfy the number of jobs Amazon would be looking to create. There is also a great system of getting around. Everything is in walking distance or a bus ride away. The culture in Philadelphia is such that it never forgets their roots and the community has always been willing to support their city. There is an abundance of buildings available for Amazon Headquarters to occupy. Philadelphia has been an ideal city for living since when it was established in the late 1600s. If Amazon were to set up in Philadelphia it would have an overall positive impact on the community and surrounding areas.

With all of the information that Suzanna has given Philadelphia sounds like a safe and productive place for the next headquarters.

In my opinion, Boston is the best location for a second Amazon HQ. It is located on the east coast, opposite of the Seattle HQ on the west coast. Its metropolitan area, "Greater Boston," has an overwhelming 4.7 million people according to the 2010 census. This would provide a sufficient amount of jobs to satisfy the employment quota Amazon requires. Also, even though Boston isn't the safest (with chances of being victim to a violent crime being 1 in 33), compared to other large cities in America, it is around the second safest. Population distribution isn't the greatest, but there are various ways of public transport to make sure everyone needs to get where they need to go.

Jackson, Mississippi would be an optimal location for Amazon’s new facility. Jackson sports a population of 173 thousand, a number that fits well within the needed workforce to sustain such a business and has a location that works with the airline systems in place to have a needed presence in the East coast of America. Mississippi isn’t the biggest industrial powerhouse and thus would happily take in the revenue that would come from such an asset, the tax policies of the State reflect this, with less than 5% corporate income tax, a factor that only 4 Eastern states can boast and within Jackson there is an international airport that explicitly services commercial aviation.

Chicago, Illinois should be the home for the next Amazon headquarters. Chicago has a population of 12.77 million people. Chicago’s crime rate has gone down since the 1900s and has a safety index of 55%. Chicago is the center of Illinois. Chicago is very close to the airport O'Hare international airport. (only 25 minutes). Chicago is also close to major highways like (41 and 90).

I agree with maggie. The population of Chicago could definitly fill the jobs of amazon. Also she made a good point how it is located near major highways which will increase the amount of income they bring in every year.

Philadelphia is a great place for a second headquarters. It has a population 1.58 million people. Also it has an international airport and it is a business-friendly environment. It is an urban community with good colleges near by to provide very good technical talent. There is enough space for the second headquarters and it is a very popular city with many people looking for new business opportunities. The new amazon headquarters will give those people the jobs they are looking for. The most important thing is that it is located on the east coast. This will make it easier for a lot of people having one nearby.

I agree with Henry because of how many people live in that area. Also since most of the population of the United States live on the East Coast, there will be many job opportunities for the surrounding people.

Montgomery County in Maryland can be a great spot for a new HQ for Amazon. The population is over the 1 million requirement Amazon asks for, at around 1.059 million. It's certainly a business friendly place, with just shy of 119 thousand individually owned businesses in 2012. The median household income is high enough to support not be greatly affected by any gentrification, at around 90 thousand USD annually. This is the tenth highest median income in the United States. There are also many schools around the area, especially the Montgomery College with an enrollment of over 23,000 talented students, giving Amazon a bunch of local talent to work with. In Bethesda, Maryland, (which is inside of the county) there is a large amount of real estate that can be used as space for the new HQ.

Reading Pennsylvania would be a good area to put the new Amazon HQ because it is pretty close to Harrisburg International Airport and its between Washington DC, New York City, and Philadelphia so its is centrally located between major cities. Reading has about 90,000 people so there will be a lot of job opportunities for everyone. The area is has a lot of roads including major highways. On the outskirts of Reading, there is a lot of space for a head quarters. Also the area has a few railroads so the headquarters can have a steady flow of goods into the area.

Philadelphia is an ideal location for the second Amazon headquarters. Philadelphia has one million residents and including the areas There are many more than one million residents. Philadelphia has access to many major highways which is good for shipping. The city also has its very own airport right outside of the city. Philadelphia does also have mass transit. Philadelphia is the ideal location for Amazon's second headquarters because it is a wealthy city and also has many residents around the city in small suburbs. Philadelphia also has a very rich history and has many historic attractions wich bring many tourists each year to come visit the city. Overall I believe that Philadelphia is a good location for Amazon's second headquarters because it is a beautiful city and has all of the requirements to host the headquarters.

Grand Rapids, Michigan is an Influential city that could use jobs, The education is low, so lots of people would want to work there cause they don't have a high enough education to work anywhere nice. Adding a large amazon headquarters, will encourage kids to graduate from high school with higher grades so they can go to better colleges, because who wants to work for the same company their parent works for doing the same job.
